Our Services: What we offer
Professional Management of Hospitals
We offer professional management in turning ailing and moribund hospitals into self-sustained and socially responsive ventures. One of the biggest subsets of ailing hospitals are the mission or church run hospitals in India, We have systems tailored specifically to the needs to mission hospitals in helping them achieve financial viability while achieving the original mandate and mission of the hospitals.
Prior to definitive intervention, we start with a situation analysis, market survey and community survey. This helps us answer some fundamental questions such as: what is causing the diseased state of the system, what are the interventions needed, what are the services to be provided, how to manage the various stakeholders, what is the kind of healthcare market in the city or town, what are the existing gaps, how can community be reached and access to healthcare provided, what is the kind of human resource capability available in the area. This helps us put in place either an emergency action plan to cut losses and minimize damage, while we work on a total restructuring of the business model and a management takeover, if applicable.
While the key service we provide is management of hospitals, the change from the charity to commercial is not just about management styles, it is a matter of core beliefs and even worldview. A drastic change in the way we look at healthcare, poverty and money are needed to understand how vital it is that charity based healthcare is replaced, and soon.
Access to Capital
Inability to access capital is a key reason for the run down condition of some of the hospitals with a consequent inability to attract professionals and patients. 4B healthcare network has access to such capital. Though most of this capital come in the form of social investments, they come with considerable discipline and rigor that normally is required when capital investments are used. A robust business plan and a credible team to delver on the results is a pre-requisite for such investments to flow.
Human Resource Development & Management
4B Healthcare uses best practices in the industry to attract and retain professionals. 4B Healthcare is not looking for short term gains but is interested in the professional as a whole including his/her career growth, family, personal development etc.
Connected care
India lacks a credible referral system. Patients with simplest of illnesses end up being treated in a tertiary level hospital thus increasing the cost of treatment. Additionally this also stresses the tertiary hospitals. 4B Healthcare intends to model appropriate primary care that is connected seamlessly to secondary and tertiary levels.
Risk Pooling Innovation
One of 4B Healthcare’s pioneering initiatives is partnering with Micro Finance Institutions in modeling micro health insurance products to help reduce out-of –pocket spending among the poor.
We are also working on finding alternate payment methods for hospitalized patients, who would otherwise borrow money or sell assets to pay for care.
Research
Realizing that these are uncharted waters, we, at 4b realize that all our ventures need supporting by good research and so we are actively involved in designing and implementing studies to evaluate health systems, efficiency of care delivery, accessibility of healthcare and how to make the system universally accessible.
